I had always dreamed of exploring Europe on two wheels, and when the opportunity came to ride with a group of friendly, adventure-loving travelers, I knew I had to be part of it.
What made it even more special was that I went with my daughter — our last big adventure together before she moved to Portugal with her family. Sharing this journey with her was something I will never forget.
Exploring the Black Forest on Two Wheels
We began our ride in Germany’s legendary Black Forest, weaving through quiet villages, tall pine trees, and rolling hills. The fresh air, the smell of woodlands, and the peaceful atmosphere made it the perfect warm-up for the trip ahead.
Into the Heart of the Dolomites
Next, we crossed into Italy to ride through the Dolomites, one of the most breathtaking mountain ranges in the world. The dramatic peaks, winding alpine roads, and scenic viewpoints left all of us speechless. Every turn felt like a postcard.
Allgäu’s Green Paradise
Back in Germany, we continued through the Allgäu region, a place filled with endless green fields, peaceful farmlands, and traditional Bavarian charm. This was one of the most relaxing parts of the trip — a perfect balance between nature and culture. www.tswanderers.com
The Großglockner High Alpine Road
One of the biggest highlights was riding the Großglockner High Alpine Road in Austria. The long sweeping curves and stunning views of snow-covered peaks made this route feel like riding through the clouds. It was challenging, thrilling, and absolutely worth every minute.
Postalm: Austria’s Hidden Gem
Our final major route took us through Postalm, Austria’s largest alpine plateau. Wide open landscapes, grazing cows, and panoramic mountain views made it feel like cycling in a different world. It was peaceful, beautiful, and filled with moments of quiet appreciation.
Plans That Changed… for the Better
Originally, the group had planned to ride through the Netherlands and Belgium as well, but most of us wanted to spend more time in Germany and Austria — and honestly, it turned out to be the perfect decision. Every single day offered something special.
